FREDERICK, Md.- The Hood College men's volleyball team fell to both Neumann and Valley Forge in straight sets in a non-conference tri-match.
Set Scores
- The Knights won 25-17, 25-14, 25-23 over Hood.
- The Patriots defeated the Blazers 29-27, 25-21, 25-23

Neumann 3, Hood 0
- The third set was the closest match between both teams. Neumann opened up with a 6-2 run until a kill by Javier Rojas to make the score 6-3. Later in the set, Neumann pulled away with a 5-1 run to make the score 16-10. The Blazers came back to tie and tied in the third set 20-20 but would fall to the Knights 25-23.
- Hood took an early lead in the first set, starting with a 6-1 lead. The Knights answered by going on an 8-2 run to take a one-point lead. Neumann would go on another 6-1 run and pulled away to win the first set 25-17.
- Neumann won the first four points of the second set, guided by Christian Johnson assisting Manny Waugh and Veryl Burns on points three and four.
- The biggest lead for Neumann was 22 to 11 in the set. Waugh recorded six kills in the set, as the Knights rolled to a 25-14 set win.
- Bartice led the Blazers with 22 assists and tallied seven digs.
- Javier Rojas had a match-high 15 kills.
Valley Forge 3, Hood 0
- In the first set Hood fought off five set points. Javier Rojas recorded three straight kills to fight off set points from the Patriots, tying the set at 24-24. Javier Rojas gave Hood the lead 27-26, but Nathan Whisman had three straight kills to give the Patriots a 29-27 set win.
- Hood tied up the game 4-4, by way of a set error by Valley Forge. The Patriots went on a 7-0 run, mixed with errors by the Blazers and kills from multiple people to take a 11-4 lead. The Blazers never got within four points, and dropped the second set 25-21.
- The Blazers were down 15-12 in the third set, errors from Valley Forge helped Hood compile a 4-0 run to take the lead 16-15. The Patriots followed the Blazers run with a 7-1 run of their own to take a 22-17 lead.
- Javier Rojas' kill tied the game up at 23-23, as Hood scored four straight points to try to force a fourth set. The Blazers ended the game with two costly errors as Valley Forge sealed the game and match 25-23.
- Javier Rojas led all players with 19 kills for the Blazers.
- Bartice was credited for 30 assists and 10 digs for Hood.
