FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's tennis team did not drop a game in doubles and went on to win 9-0 over visiting Trinity Washington.
Doubles
- All three Blazer pairings won by identical 8-0 scores.
- Katie Cautero (Hackettstown, N.J./Lenape Valley) and Kate Haufe (Severna Park, Md./Severna Park) bested Guyberlie Cinada and Bailey Square at first doubles.
- At second doubles, Cori Mark (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) and Lauren Sheffler (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) breezed past Karla Nunez-Perez and Monse Avellano.
- Ridley Little (Bristol, Va./Virginia) and Em Bentley (Columbia, Md./Mount de Sales Acad.) sent Hood to singles play with a 3-0 lead, defeating Imeryani Islas and Yesica Tumax.
Singles
- Haufe, Sheffer and Bentley did not lose a single game, winning 6-0, 6-0. Haufe was a winner over Square at second singles, Sheffler won at fourth singles over Avellano and Bentley beat Tumax at No. 6.
- Mark won 6-1, 6-0 over Nunez-Perez at third singles.
- Little took a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5 against Islas.
- Cautero was a 6-0, 6-2 winner at first singles, defeating Cinada.
