LEWISBURG, Pa. - Chris Sappe (Ijamsville, Md./Urbana) set a new Hood College record in the 800-meter to lead the men's track and field team at the Bison Outdoor Invitational hosted by Division I Bucknell University. 

Record Setter

• Sappe completed his 800 in 1:56.52, cutting 0.14 off the old school standard. Competing against almost exclusively Division I runners, he was 103rd. The time ranks Sappe fifth in the Middle Atlantic Conference. 

On the Track

• Jamel Mins (Columbia, Md./Atholton) ran a time of 10.98 in the 100-meter dash to become just the second Blazer in program history to break 11 seconds. Mins was 32nd and ranks fourth in the MAC. He also ran the 200, setting a new personal record of 22.15 and ranks third in the MAC. 
• Evan Ellington's (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) 100 time of 11.13 was a new personal record and placed 59th. He is ranked eighth in the MAC. 
• The 4x400-meter relay team of Owen Ellington (Laurel, Md./Gonzaga College), Tofunmi Okuseinde (Baltimore, Md./Parkville), Sappe and Jemeel Mbure (Laurel, Md./Atholton) combined for a time of 3:28.89. They finished 24th and rank fifth in the MAC and second all-time at Hood. 
• Alex Seskar (Great Mills, Md./Great Mills) completed the 3,000-meter run in 9:37.80. The time was 61st overall and ranks fourth all-time at Hood. 
• Ellington ran the 400 in 51.76 to place 82nd. The time ranks him fifth all-time in program history.
