Relay continues record-setting season


PHILADELPHIA, Pa. and SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - The Hood College men's track team competed in split-squad action at both the Penn Relays at the University of Pennslyvania and the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg University.

Record Breakers
  • At the Penn Relays, the 4x100-meter relay team of Tofunmi Okuseinde (Baltimore, Md./Parkville), Evan Ellington (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti), Rell Asamoah (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) and Jamel Mins (Columbia, Md./Atholton) broke the school record for the fifth time this season. The quartet placed third in the final with a time of 41.82 seconds. The time also ranks 37th overall in the nation in Division III. 
Highlights 
  • At SU, Chris Sappe (Ijamsville, Md./Urbana) recorded a career best in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:03.57 to place 14th out of 42 participants.

  • No team scoring was tracked at either meet.
