Men's track and field earns six all-region honors

NEW ORLEANS - Hood College's Jamel Mins (Columbia, Md./Atholton) earned United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Region honors, while three of his teammates joined him as all-region on the 4x100-meter relay team.

Tofunmi Okuseinde (Baltimore, Md./Parkville), Evan Ellington (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) and Rell Asamoah (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) comprised the other three legs of the 4x100. The quartet set the school record on a near weekly basis during the outdoor season, eventually running a 41.82 at the Penn Relays.

Mins' other all-region honors came in the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. The sophomore was All-Middle Atlantic Conference in both events after running 10.81 in the 100 and 21.92 in the 200 at the conference championships. He ranks second all-time at Hood in both events.

The top five individuals in each event from each region earned all-region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top three ranked relay team. The Blazers compete in the Mid-Atlantic Region.
