LYNCHBURG, Va. - The Hood College men's soccer team lost 6-0 to non-conference opponent Lynchburg University.

How it Happened
The Blazers held the Hornets scoreless for over 20 minutes of the first half. Luke Mega scored after taking a penalty kick for Lynchburg at the 28th minute of the match. Ayden Cass extended the lead for the Hornets to 2-0 in the 30th minute. Lynchburg added one more goal by Chris Bovo, closing out the first half with a 3-0 lead.
The second half was all Lynchburg, scoring three goals in the final 45 minutes. Manzi Shalita scored off an assist by Benjamin Velasquez and Zach Whelan at 54th minute. Only 41 seconds later Chris Wiley scored with an assist by Ayden Cass. Lastly, Jacson Shepherd scored for the Hornets in the 83rd minute.
Analysis
Lynchburg held the advantage in shots 30-3 and 5-1 in corners over Hood.
For The Opponent
Mega, Cass, Bovo, Shalita, Wiley, and Shepard all scored once for Lynchburg. Velasquez, Whelan and Cass all notched an assist. Alex Derstine, Noah Gregory and Thomas Viscuso split time in goal during the shutout.
