FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's volleyball team could not solve Alvernia University's late runs, as the Blazers fell 3-0 to open Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

How it Happened
After a back-and-forth set, the teams were tied at 18-18 before Alvernia got the set's next seven points, finishing it off with a kill from Rachel Sipling.
With the second set tied 19-19, the Golden Wolves went on a 6-2 run to close out the set.
Although the Blazers started the third set off with a 7-1 run, Alvernia managed to tie the game at 7-7 before going on to complete the sweep.
For the Opponent
Rachel Sipling led the Golden Wolves in kills with 13.
Patricia Falar finished the match with team-leading 24 assists.
Abigail McGinley led the team with 12 digs.
