FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College field hockey team scored once in the fourth quarter but fell just short 2-1 to visiting Elizabethtown in non-conference field hockey.

How it Happened
Butler cut into the Blue Jay lead with a goal in the 49th minute to make it 2-1. The Blazers had a chance to level the score down the stretch when Elizabethtown was charged with a pair of green cards in the final three minutes.
Kate Bentz (Stroudsburg, Pa./Stroudsburg) nearly tied the game with 1:37 to play but Etown came up with a defensive save by Maeve Keeney to preserve the win.
Hood kept the Blue Jays off the scoreboard in the first period before Hannah Long found Lorna Oldt at 23:42 for a 1-0 lead.
Elizabethtown extended the lead in the 35th minute when Drew Bridges found the back of the cage.
Analysis
The Blue Jays outshot Hood 19-9 and held a 12-2 advantage in penalty corners.
