How it Happened
The Pride jumped out to an early 1-0 lead following Sean Fatiga's goal, assisted by Jordi Lopez at 17'. Less than ten minutes later, Michael Donaghy found Ryan Toporowski at 25' to push the lead to 2-0. Multiple yellow cards were given in what became a chippy first half, but the score stayed the same heading into the break.
Hood's halftime adjustments looked to be effective as they opened the second half with a goal at 46'. Simo set up Gilson whose shot found the left corner and closed the gap to 2-1. The goal provided a spark that looked like it could lead to a comeback.
Fatiga had other plans. His goal at 54' extended the lead to 3-1 and gave assists to Tumi Sekhampu and Lopez. Hood tried to respond but wasn't able to get anything going. Owen Eberman scored a late goal at 89' to secure the win for Widener.
