Inside the Box Score
Ann Ofoegbu (Falling Waters, W.Va./Spring Mills) led the Blazers with a whopping 25 kills.

Katie Goddard (Keedysville, Md/Boonsboro) ended the evening with 12 digs.
How it Happened
Hood jumped out to a 7-1 lead in the first set and maintained a sizable advantage most of the way, but with an 18-10 lead, Alvernia went on a 6-1 run to get within three, and eventually took a 23-22 lead in crunch time. Although a kill from
Madison Powell (Midlothian, Va./Manchester) tied things up, the Golden Wolves took the next two points to win the set.
Set two was much more even from the start as the two teams traded leads. With the score tied at nine though, Alvernia began to inch ahead of the Blazers two and three points at a time, eventually putting the visiting team in an 18-13 hold. Despite Hood getting within two, they were unable to keep up the momentum as the Golden Wolves took another set and looked ready to sweep.
Needing a spark, the Blazers started set three with a small lead, but it quickly vanished as the two squads traded blows once again. With Hood holding a thin 12-11 lead, they came alive to score six straight points, more than enough to put the set out of reach and force a fourth.
The Blazers again battled evenly with Alvernia to kick off the fourth set, and despite the Golden Wolves putting up five straight points to put Hood at a 16-13 disadvantage, the Blazers battled back to tie the set at 21, proceeding to score four of the next five points to miraculously tie the match and force a decisive fifth set.
Barger started the final set with an ace, but neither team was able to get a foothold and carry any momentum. After swapping sides with Hood holding a razor-thin 8-7 lead, the two groups eventually tied the set at 10. The Blazers kicked it into another gear for the next four points, and with the win in their grasp, who else but Ofoegbu got the final kill of the match to complete the comeback and pick up their first MAC Commonwealth win of the season.
For the Opponent
Hailey McDevitt led Alvernia with 13 kills, five aces, and 19 assists.
