Inside the Box Score

-
Adam Bartice (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) marked seven kills and six digs.
-

How it Happened -
Russell Odor (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) took a swing a ball near his shoelaces just for it to make it over the net and find open space in-bounds to put the Blazers ahead 18-17 in set one
Right when Eastern had set point, the Blazers scored two of the next three points via block to take it into extras where the Eagles snuck out with the set.
Set two was the hardest fought set reaching a score of 30-28. Casas was set by Bravo to open up the set and the strike was too much for an Eastern blocker to start the scoring.
After trading runs back and forth a kill by Sean Seely (Bethpage, N.Y./Bethpage High School) gave Hood a 16-15 lead and then Bravo muscled out a kill at the net against a blocker for another point.
Hood had Eastern at match point but a service ace pushed the set into extras. The Blazers put their opponent in positions to make mistakes but evidently a ball handling error stopped the surge.
The final set started with a 9-1 run for the Eastern Eagles, the Blazers' Adam Bartice (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) provided the offense with multiple kills that deflected off defenders.
