How it Happened - King's
-
Set one featured Bravo creating pressure on King's that lead to attack errors. The Blazers took the lead 4-3 before taking the lead back at 6-5 and 7-6. Then Kings would score four straight and then another four straight to create the gap.
-
Set two started was highlighted with a Casas kill at 3-2 followed by a service ace falling in the area of the Monarchs' Gavin Gilhool. Later Seely would score back-to-back points to put the Blazers within five and that is the closest the score would be.
-
Casas and Seely took control of the kills in the final set and even when Hood was met at match point at 24-16, they scored four points in response before the last point was scored for King's.
For the Opponent - King's
-
King's Greg Bousquet had 11 kills, eight digs, and two blocks.

Inside the Box Score - Drew

-
Gael Bravo (Lanham, Md./Bowie High School) had 23 assists and eight digs.

How it Happened - Drew
-
After being down early in set two, the Blazers took advantage of opposing service errors and successful service aces by their own Dan Blanchfield (Cambridge, N.Y./Cambridge Central) and Brendan Stutz (Frederick, Md./Oakdale). Casas eventually found open space in the back row to take a 25-24 lead, then the Monarchs mishandled a Adam Bartice (Washington, D.C./Woodrow Wilson) serve and the Blazers took set two.
-
Drew's momentum ultimately is what worked against the Blazers as an 11-2 run in the fourth set flipped the scripted and ended the match.
