How it Happened
- The Saints of Marymount University started the contest out scoring first after a goal from Arayla Garcia. Just a minute later at at 12:42 The Blazers responded quickly with a goal of their own curtesy of Demaio assisted by Abby Burnette (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom). Marymount then put in two more goals going up over Hood 3-1. Stanley then put one in the back of the net following her free position shot. Closing out the first quarter Marymount managed to slip in one more goal off another free position shot with just a minute remaining.
- At the start of the second quarter Marymount managed to put together a three goal run going up 7-2. Wright struck back taking the ball from coast-to-coast and scoring cutting the Saints lead to four. The Saints responed adding on one more goal before the end of the quarter as the scoreboard read 8-3 in favor of Marymount at halftime.
- Hood had a promising start in the third quarter as Gregory scored off an assist by Demaio a minute and a half in. The Saints tacked on two more goals to help maintain a steady lead over the Blazers 10-4 at the end of the period.
- In the final quarter of play Wright cut the Saints' lead to 5 scoring another goal with 12:24 left in regulation. Garcia then capitalized off a free position shot for Marymount. With 7:21 Wright got her third goal of the day closing out scoring for the match. At the final buzzer the scoreboard read 11-6.
