FREDERICK, Md. - Women's Tennis took care of business in No.1 and No.3 singles but were outlasted by strong MAC Commonwealth foe in Messiah 7-2.
Doubles
The co-op of Anna Frye (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) and Gigi Falzone (Buffalo, N.Y./Amherst Central) battle Messiah's Conjack and Hackman to 7-7 but was outlasted in the tiebreaker 7-2. Cori Mark (Bel Air, Md./Bel Air) and Lauren Sheffler (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport) dropped their match 8-1 while Samantha Huffer (Lovettsville, Va./Woodgrove) and Natilie Mackie were spent 8-3.
Singles
Frye continued to stay hot in singles scoring straight 6-2 sets to win No.1 singles and put a point on the board for the Blazers. Gigi Falzone (Buffalo, N.Y./Amherst Central) took Bella Heckman to three sets and pulled out set three 10-7 and overcame the tiebreaker loss in set two. Sheffler and Huffer skidded in their matches 6-0, 6-0 while Mark and Mackie were on the opposite end of 6-1 sets.
