MT. WOLF, Pa. — The Hood College men's golf team finished play at the Spartan Shootout with a fourth-place finish and several Top 15 individual performances across two rounds at the 6,961-yard Royal Manchester Golf Links.
On the Scorecards
First-year 
David Nuckolls (Walkersville, Md./Walkersville) led the Blazers with a consistent showing, carding rounds of 77 and 79 to finish tied for seventh overall at +12 (156) in a field of over 45 golfers. Nuckolls worked pars on the first seven of nine holes and birdied twice on the back nine to start the tournament near the top of the pack of golfers.
Joining Nuckolls in the Top 20 were 
Griffin Cansler (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) and 
Mac Arida (Gambrills, Md./Crofton), both finishing tied for 13th at +16 (160)
. Cansler posted rounds of 78 and 82 with three birdies a piece, while Arida rebounded from an opening 82 with a solid 78 in round two that included three birdies of his own.
Cameron Swan (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) and 
Nathan Leppo (Finksburg, MD/Westminster) rounded out Hood's scoring, finishing tied for 33rd and 38th respectively. Swan recorded scores of 85 and 84 (+25, 169) and finished with seven-straight birdies in his final round, and Leppo followed with rounds of 87 and 85 (+28, 172).
On the Leaderboard
Tyler Lynch of Goucher and Alex Kaun of York shared the top of the podium with a score of 150.
York took the crown in the team race with a 615, 12 strokes ahead of Goucher.
Hood finished with a 645, seven strokes ahead of conference foe Alvernia and familiar foe Juniata in the field of eight teams.
