How it Happened  Â
The match started off on an even plain as both teams showed chances of potential success. Later in the half York utilized its offensive threats and after 28 minutes of play the Spartans top scorer Meg Kalthof notched in a goal. York chose to keep up their momentum and with 12 minutes left in the half Allysa Hartman snuck in the second goal through a slue Spartans. At the end of the first half York led 2-0.Â

Heading into the second half, York did not take their foot off the gas. Just nine minutes in Kalthof netted another goal to put the Spartans up 3-0. 11 minutes later York's Jena Witters found the back of the net to give the Spartans their fourth. The Blazers showed signs of a comeback bid with shots from
Ambrea Gaither (Frederick, Md./Oakdale)Â and
Adrianna Escobar (Germantown, Md./Seneca Valley) but were turned away by York's goalkeepers. At the end of regulation, the scoreboard read 5-0. Â
