CHEVY CHASE, Md. - Equestrian Team Coach Lizzie Hummel received the IHSA Zone IV, Region 1 Coaches Award at Regionals at Meadowbrook Stables. 

She received two separate nominations for Coach of the Year highlighting her service to the Region including taking on the huge responsibility of becoming Regional President, her overall willingness to volunteer to help with all teams within the region, as well as her service as point keeper, and most importantly, her dedication to teaching riders of all levels the important values of this sport.

Hummel is both a Hood Equestrian alum and in her 12th year coaching at Hood.  Hummel was also re-elected to serve as IHSA Zone IV, Region 1 President for the 2025-2027 season.
