Hood Men's Basketball releases 2025 recruiting class

Hood College Men's Basketball has announced their 2025 recruiting class, consisting of six incoming freshmen.  Head Coach Chad Dickman is once again excited about the new faces, stating "These six young men are high character, high academic guys that will fit very well with our basketball program and culture.  They're very good players and we can't wait to get them fully integrated into our culture here at Hood".

The Blazers will bring in three players from the Central PA region, including Jake Dallas (York Catholic High School) and teammates Dominic Gilberto and Elijah Holly (South Western High School).

Dallas, a 6'2 wing, averaged 18 points and five rebounds while leading his team to a 20-7 record and the YAIAA Division title.  He shot 55% from the field, 43% from 3, and 80% from the free throw line.  Dallas was named 1st Team All-District, 1st Team All-Conference, and finished as the school's fourth all-time leading scorer with 1,587 points.

Coach Dickman's thoughts: "Jake's a guy that we saw early on, loved his game and how it fit with our style of play, and we recruited him hard.  He's very skilled and shoots the ball at a high clip.  He has played against some of the best competition in AAU, he's a hard worker, and he'll continue to get better and better".

6'0 combo guard Dominic Gilberto and 6'7 forward Elijah Holly were both named YAIAA all-stars while leading their Southwestern (Hanover, PA) squad.  Gilberto averaged 20 points per game, highlighted by a 47-point outburst to finish his career. He was named Conference Player of the Year and 1st Team All-District.  Holly, an athletic, mobile forward, was a defensive anchor that averaged five rebounds and three blocks per game, while shooting 54% from the floor.

Coach Dickman's thoughts: "Dom and Elijah both have a chance to be really nice college players.  Dom is an athletic, hard-nosed guard that puts the ball in the basket from all three levels.  Elijah is a high-ceiling kid that probably still doesn't know just how good he can be, but he has a lot of tools that are valuable at this level–he has good hands, runs the floor extremely well, and has great length".

Herndon (VA) High School's Tobin Haire will be the next in a long line of Northern Virginia players that have suited up for the Blazers.  He's a 6'3 combo guard that averaged 14 points, eight rebounds, and three assists per game.  Haire was named 1st Team All-District and 2nd Team All-Region.

Coach Dickman's thoughts: "Toby is an extremely versatile player and should eventually be a guy that we can utilize in multiple positions.  He's big, strong, and skilled.  I love his leadership qualities and positive energy, as well".

Hood grabbed Noah Tucker next, a 6'4 lefty wing from Stephen Decatur High School (MD).  He led his team to a 21-4 record, while averaging 11 points, six rebounds, and two assists.  Tucker was named 2nd Team All-Bayside Conference.

Coach Dickman's thoughts: "Noah's a kid that will fit well into our system.  He can shoot, pass, and handle it.  I really like his potential and expect him to have a bright future for us".

The Blazers finalized their class with the addition of another in-state player, Jordan Silverstein, a 6'1 combo guard from Walter Johnson High School.  Silverstein averaged 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals per game as a senior, while shooting over 80% from the foul line.

Coach Dickman's thoughts: "Jordan is a good player whose skills are very polished for a high school kid.  He's a solid athlete that plays hard and has a high IQ, and you can never have too many guys like that.  I think the transition to our style will be fairly seamless for him".
