How it Happened
Hood struck first on a penalty corner, after a trio of passes and an
Ellie Dainton (Mays Landing, NJ./Saint Joseph Academy) strike led to some pinball action before
Sydney Fleming (Fredericksburg, Va./Courtland) scored.
Later in the second, Haufe legged through the defensive single handedly before dishing off of to
Nora Bachtel (Westminster, Md./Francis Scott Key) and after fighting contact she got a shot off. Her shot would deflect off the keeper and fall just out of reach and Haufe cleaned house for the 2-0.
Even with the explosiveness, the Blazers left with only that 2-0 lead at the half. Fortunately the uptick in opportunities turned into a frenzy of scoring.
An on the run goal by
Ava Snelsire (Berlin, Md./Stephen Decatur) extended it to three and after a pesky
Kylie Roessler (Tewksbury, N.J./Vorhees) pickpocket of a defender, Haufe would strike again with a lofted shot to create the point of no return.
Hackett forced the envelope and weaved passed every defender she could find before finding Numme who put some extra english on her shot in close quarters and yet another goal for the Blazers.
The Griffins had opportunities to have a say in the score, but spent most of their time on damage control.
The final strike was another harmonious feed from Hackett from the side to point blank and Buohl executed to score the seventh.
For the Opponent
The Griffith's keeper Nikki Williams posted 12 saves on 18 shots.
Mackenzie Reed posted three shots for the visitors.
