BERKELEY SPRINGS, W.Va. – The women's golf team traveled to Shenandoah for the Chinatown and Shenandoah University Invitational where two Blazers saw career bests and two Blazers with their first career rounds that included birdies this weekend.
On the Scorecards
Gabi Miller (Connellsville, Pa./Connellsville) finished with a 92 on day one but notched three pars on the front nine in her second round for a career best on the course.
Keira Corcoran (Queenstown, Md./Queen Anne's County) completed her first tournament with six pars on the front nine and career birdie No. 1 on the 343-yard Hole 16 in round one for an 88. Her second day score was a 93 to giver a 181 in her first 36 holes.
Mia Cheesebrough (Mendota Heights, Mn./Two Rivers/St. Paul Riveters) starts her sophomore season with a tricky front nine on day one but finished the back with a birdie on Hole 14 and three pars on Holes 16-18. Day two saw more consistency and a score of 88 for her career best 18 holes and a total of 185 as her career 36-hole best.
Sophia Stultz (Elk Township, N.J./Our Lady of Mercy Academy) finished her first collegiate tournament with two birdies leading the Blazers. She put together birdies on a short Par 3 in her first round and a hefty Par 5 in round two.
On the Leaderboard
Kate Parsons of Marymount finished even on the tournament to finish with the individual cup.
Marymount also took the team win with a 604. Four of five members finished inside the Top 10.
Hood finishes 12
th of 13 teams, 80 strokes ahead of last place Roanoke.
