Men's Basketball with nonstop service of the paint against Albright

READING, Pa. - With over 200 points scored between both teams in the game, the volume and the efficiency of the Blazers overpowered foe Albright to open up the conference slate in the 114-95 win on the road on Wednesday Night.

Inside the Box Score

Kullen Robinson (Alexandria, Va./Alexandria City) scores a career-high 36 points and his 15 buckets made ties for second all time in a single contest.

Jevon Yarbrough (Hagerstown, Md./Williamsport) earned had another double digits night with 26 points and 11 rebounds.

Garrett Cox (Glen Allen, VA/Glen Allen) scores 13 and grabs eight boards on the night.

How it Happened

This game had the back court written all over it after Robinson went downhill to score Hood's first nine points with ease for when he arrived past the high screen he had a first class ticket to the rack.

Hood continued to feast on scores in the paint with the screen creating a disconnect for the Albright defense keeping supporting defenders with their man at the perimeter but the lone defender that had to pick up the ball handler would trail too late.

The Blazers squad actually had a tough time shooting the ball in the field despite the score, this gave four straight Albright triples inside the 10-minute mark a way to make it a four-point game.

The continued access to the paint showed true as a Jake Bolyn (Pottstown, Pa./Perkiomen) dunk in his eight-point half and Robinson taking a smooth handoff to cap off his 21-point first half led to a 23-point lead into the half. Hood only had three made threes in the first half.

Credit to the hosts in the second half, blocks on defense and their ability to draw fouls on the defensive end prevented the flood gates from opening in the second half.

Even with 60 points scored for Albright down the stetch, Yarbrough and Robinson's consistency  stopped any sort of momentum to change the script of this story.

"That's a great win to start conference play and not an easy place to get a win," said head coach Chad Dickman. "I thought the entire team was locked in and brought great energy the entire game."

Dickman praised the athleticism of Albright, which also lifted the effort that the Blue & Grey had, "They're an athletic team so I loved the fact that we dominated the glass the way we did. Proud of the toughness our guys showed. Jevon and Kullen are just really tough to stop when they get downhill and the help defense can't leave our shooters."
