FREDERICK, MD - The women's soccer team battled at home Wednesday, September 30th, against the Gettysburg Bullets but fell 2-0. Despite a hard-fought effort throughout the match, the team was unable to find the back of the net and will look to bounce back in its next contest.

How it Happened
The Blazers recorded the first shot of the match in the sixth minute, as
Leah Cook (Brunswick, Md./Brunswick) fired a shot toward the net but was unable to find the back of it. Gettysburg quickly applied pressure, forcing multiple shots on goal, but Hood goalkeeper
Ashley Stine (Allentown, PA/Emmaus) made several saves in her first appearance of the 2026 season. Despite the defensive effort, the Blazers were unable to escape the first half unscathed, as the Bullets scored on a header with just 10 seconds remaining to take a 1-0 lead into halftime.
Hood came out of the second half looking to respond, with
Anais Esparza (Gilbert, Ariz./Casteel) recording a shot on goal early in the period. However, the Blazers were unable to capitalize on the opportunity. Gettysburg added its second goal of the match following a cross into the middle that found a Bullets attacker, who finished the chance to extend the lead to 2-0. The Bullets held on for the remainder of the match, handing Hood a 2-0 loss at home on Wednesday, September 30.
