FREDERICK, Md., — Hood College is calling on the Frederick community to show its hometown pride and support the women's and men's basketball teams in the nation at a special "Frederick Day" game on Saturday, February 14, with the women's tip-off at 1 p.m. and the men's at 3 p.m. at the Ronald J. Volpe Athletic Center in Woodsboro Bank Arena.
The first game features recent rivalry where the Blazers took down the Lion's in back-to-back appearances in 2025 after Albright had owned the series. Game two showcases a highly anticipated men's matchup between the top two teams in the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC). Hood, ranked No. 15 nationally, enters the game as the current top seed in the conference, while Albright holds the second seed, setting the stage for a high-stakes matchup on Saturday afternoon.
To encourage community participation, Hood College Athletics is offering
free admission to both the men's and women's games to anyone who brings a donation of a non-perishable food item or hygiene product. All donated items will benefit Hood's Campus Cupboard, the College's on-campus food pantry that supports Hood students experiencing food insecurity.
