WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Hood College men's golf team wrapped up a 36-hole competition at the McDaniel Spring Invitational at the Bridges Golf Club with an eighth-place finish on Sunday afternoon.
On the Scoreboard
Nathan Leppo (Finksburg, MD/Westminster) turned in the top finish for the Blazers by carding rounds of 80 and 79 to finish at +15 (159), tying for 12th overall in the individual standings.
Cole Beakes (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) placed among a large group tied for 25th after posting rounds of 85 and 83 for a 168 total (+24).
Teammates
Rowan Foose (Arlington, Va./Yorktown) and
Cameron Swan (Simsbury, Conn./Simsbury) finished one stroke back at +26 (170), tying for 29th overall. Foose rebounded with an improved second-round 82, while Swan finished with identical rounds of 86 and 84.
Rounding out the Hood contingent was
Landon Leitner (Delmar, Md./Delmar), who shot 87 and 88 to finish with a 175 total, placing tied for 41st in the field.
On the Leaderboard
Riley Ruby of Goucher claimed the top spot with a +4 (158) on the tournament.
Salisbury's men took the team cup with a 614 as a team, edging out Goucher out by two strokes.
Hood finishes in 8
th out of 10 teams with a team score of 666, finishing 10 strokes better on the second day as a team (338/328).
