OWINGS MILLS, Md.- The Hood College women's lacrosse team started conference play on the road against the Mustangs of Stevenson University late Wednesday afternoon but fell in the contest 15-5.
Inside the Box Score

How it Happened
The Blazers got blitzed earlier into the contest against the Mustangs as they earned the advantage over Hood early into the first quarter behind a Megan Greenwell goal.
Hood tried to find its footing offensively, but was unable to and Stevenson took full advantage to end the first quarter up 5-0.
The Mustangs continued their attack and netted two more goals to start the second quarter.
The Blazer needed an answer and found one in
Julia Gregory (Sussex, N.J./Vernon Twp.) as she netted a goal to get Hood on the board.
Shortly after, Gregory scored on a free position shot attempt to chip into the lead.
The Blazer started to gain some momentum, but quickly after Gregory's second goal, the Mustangs fired back with a goal of their own to extend the lead 8 to 2.
At the midway mark of the second quarter, Stevenson added another goal. With three minutes remaining before the half, Gregory netted yet another one for the Blazer to earn the hat-trick in the first half of the contest.
Headed into the break, Hood was down 9 to 3, and despite the lead the Blazer were not deterred by the deficit as they looked to bounce back in the second half.
As the second half started, it was more of the same as the Blazer got overwhelmed with the Mustangs offense. Stevenson scored an additional three unanswered goals before
Maggie Merrill (Marriottsville, Md./Marriotts Ridge) scored on a man up free position shot attempt.
Headed into the fourth, the Blazers were down 13 to 4. Merrill netted her second goal of the contest to start the fourth quarter, but the Mustangs offense proved to be too much for the Blazers today as they would fall 15 to 5 to start conference play.

Alice Petersen led Stevenson in goals with four.
Ava Treakle won nine draw controls.
