YORK, PA. – The Hood College women's lacrosse team was unable to upset No. 8 York College of Pennsylvania, falling 21-2 in the MAC Commonwealth matchup.

Julia Gregory (Sussex, N.J./Vernon Twp.) scored for the Blazers.
Gregory won six draw controls.
Tayton Barrett (Georgia, Vt./Rice Memorial) made 11 saves to take the loss before being replaced by
Laura Hittle (Stafford, Va./Brooke Point), who made one save.
How it Happened
York's offense got going early, scoring twice in the first 90 seconds as part of a 10-goal first quarter, getting the running clock started early.
Hood's defense performed a little better in the second quarter, only allowing three goals as it headed into halftime down 13-0.
The Blazers were able to get on the board towards the end of the third quarter, but were outscored 4-1 in the period as the Spartans maintained their advantage. Gregory notched their second goal less than a minute into the fourth, but York responded with four more of their own to hand Hood a 21-2 loss.

Lauren Gillies led the Spartans with five goals.
Krista Yarusso ended the game with seven total points.
