YORK, Pa.--Thirteen different players of the York College
women's basketball team scored to lead the host Spartans to a 77-30
victory over the Hood College Blazers Thursday in a non-conference
game at the Grumbacher Sport and Fitness Center.
The Blazers drop to 4-17 overall while the Spartans won their
fourth straight home game and improve to 17-8.
York, Hood's future Capital Athletic Conference foe, never
trailed in the contest. After taking a 35-17 lead at the
intermission, the Spartans limited the Blazers to just one field
goal, a triple by Whitney Schultheis, over the first 14:48 of the
second half.
Freshman Jennifer Willison finished one rebound shy of her
eighth double-double on the year with 10 points and nine rebounds
while Schultheis chipped in seven points and had a pair of assists.
Senior Dana Shook dished out four assists and grabbed six rebounds.
Kristen Daly led the Spartans with 17 points, 10 rebounds and
four assists.
The Blazers return to action Saturday at Atlantic Women's
Colleges Conference rival Chatham College. Tip is set for 2 p.m.
