FREDERICKSBURG, Va.--The Hood College women's basketball team
(2-6, 0-2 CAC) fell to the No. 17 University of Mary Washington
Eagles (7-0, 2-0 CAC), 88-35, Friday evening in a Capital Athletic
Conference game at Goolrick Gym.
Hood got on the board first on a Jen Willison jumper but the
Eagles reeled off the next 20 straight points and never surrendered
its double-figure lead.
The Eagles shot 51.5 percent from the floor and connected on 12
three-point baskets in the contest.
Willison finished with 14 points and eight rebounds to lead the
Blazers. Allyson Lethbridge chipped in nine points while Jessica
Parrish had seven and Sara Wastler registered in five.
Katie Wimmer led four Eagles in double figures with a game-high
16 points off the bench.
The Blazers will be idle until Dec. 20 when they host Goucher
College at Gambrill Gymnasium at 2 p.m.
