SALISBURY, Md.--The Hood College men's lacrosse team (0-16) lost
29-3 to the top-ranked Salisbury University Sea Gulls (16-0) Monday
in the first round of the Capital Athletic Conference
tournament.
Sofiane Lazar got the Blazers on the board in the first quarter
when he scored his 15th goal of the season off a feed from Jason
Anderson with just over three minutes remaining in the period. Just
24 seconds later, Kris Miner netted his seventh goal of the spring
to cut the deficit to 7-2. Then in the second quarter, Alex Tkacz
ripped his sixth goal a pass from Jeff Tarleton.
Sam Hofmann played three quarters in goal and recorded 11 saves.
He now has 662 in his four-year career, ranking him in the top 20
all-time in the NCAA Division III career annals.
The Blazers have one more nonconference game listed on the 2008
schedule - April 23 against local rival McDaniel College at Thomas
Athletic Field. Face-off is set for 4 p.m. Hood will also honor its
six seniors for their contributions to the program before the
contest.
