FREDERICK, Md.--Junior Danielle Hunt ousted Candice Sullivan in
straight sets at sixth singles to clinch a 5-4 victory for the Hood
College women's tennis team (2-0) over Shenandoah Univeristy Monday
afternoon at the Baker Park Tennis Courts.
Hood started the match by winning two of the three doubles
matches. Christine Ocampos-Barry and Caitlin Erickson downed Aliisa
Altau and Brittany Cascope, 8-3, at second doubles while the No. 3
doubles tandem of Hunt and Laura Saad knocked off Jessica Putnam
and Candice Sullivan, 8-4.
In singles action, Jillian Elkaim and Saad earned straight-set
victories at first and fifth singles, respectively.
The Blazers return to action Friday at McDaniel College for a 4
p.m. matchup.
