WASHINGTON, D.C.--Six different players scored for the Hood
College women's soccer team (1-3, 1-1 CAC) in a lopsided 9-0
Capital Athletic Conference victory over Gallaudet University (0-2,
0-1 CAC) Sunday.
Junior Whitney Boyer, sophomore Jenna Burns and freshman Carlie
Colella all had multi-goal games in the decisive win. Boyer tallied
one of her scores on a penalty kick while Burns assisted on a goal
in addition to scoring two of her own for a five-point performance.
Sophomores Alexa Hubicki and Cara Jordan and senior Jessica
Parrish also found the back of the net for Hood, which outshot
Galaludet 62-0 on the afternoon. Junior Brittany Hurt, senior Liz
Rakowski and freshmen Rachel Wolf and Tish Havasy were all credited
with assists.
Casey McCullough made 27 saves for the Bison in defeat.
Sophomore Rachelle Buhrman and freshman Kirsten Cacciola each
played one half in the net and combined for Hood's first shutout of
the season.
The Blazers return to action Tuesday hosting CAC rival St.
Mary's College (Md.) at 4:30 p.m. at the Maryland SoccerPlex in
Boyds, Md.
