No. 20 Marymount Downs Hood, 74-38

FREDERICK, Md.--The Hood College women's basketball team (3-11, 1-4 CAC) fell 74-38 to the visiting Marymount University Saints (11-2, 4-0), ranked No. 20 in the nation, in a Capital Athletic Conference game at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School.

The Blazers limited the Saints to just 1-of-11 from the field over the first 5:12 and held a 7-6 edge in the early going. Marymount finally grabbed the lead at the 14:27 mark on a basket by Julie Tomesheski.

Clinging to a 14-13 lead after a layup by Hood's Jen Willison midway through the period, the Saints outscored Hood 24-8 the rest of the half and led 38-21 at the break.

The Saints would not surrender their double-figure lead in the second half and went on to capture their fourth CAC win of the season.

Willison tied for game-high scoring honors with 13 points to move into seventh place on Hood's all-time scoring chart. She now has 884 points in her three-year career in the blue and gray. She also notched her seventh double-double of the season by grabbing 15 boards while Sara Wastler had 11 points, including three three-pointers.

Four Saints reached double digits in the scoring column, led by Kathryn Wilson's 13.

Hood returns to action Saturday at Wesley College for a 2 p.m. CAC tilt.
