Box Score DOVER, Del.--Junior Jaime Bingaman and senior Cara Jordan both
registered unassisted tallies for the Hood College women's soccer
team (4-11, 0-7 CAC) in a 4-2 Capital Athletic Conference loss at
Wesley College (2-11-1, 1-7 CAC) Tuesday evening.
Both teams came into the contest seeing their first CAC
victories of the season. Wesley got on the scoreboard first in the
fifth minute when Kim Fearnbach blasted a shot from 30 yards out
and past a diving Rachelle Buhrman. Kaitlin Barry then tallied her
second score of the season in the 30th minute to extend the
Wolverine advantage to 2-0. Bingaman cut the deficit in half 2:11
later with her second goal of the fall for the Blazers.
Brielle Bogan knocked in a rebound for Wesley in the 66th minute
for her first marker of the season. But Hood's leading scorer
Jordan booted her 10th score on the year in the 76th minute to pull
the Blazers within one once again. Barry notched her second score
of the game in the 82nd minute when she tacked on an insurance goal
for the Wolverines.
Hood outshot the Wolverines, 18-15, but Sydney Kahan came up
with nine saves on the day to earn the win. Buhrman and Kirsten
Cacciola split time in the net and combined for seven saves.
The Blazers will play their final three games on the season at
home. Hood next hosts Richard Stockton College Thursday at 4 p.m.
at Thomas Athletic Field.
