Hood Ends Season With Setback to Stevenson, 20-4

FREDERICK, Md.--Sophomore Caitlin Lawrence scored three goals for the Hood College women's lacrosse team (4-11, 0-8 CAC) Wednesday in a 20-4 Capital Athletic Conference loss to Stevenson University (10-5, 6-2 CAC) in the Blazers' season finale at Thomas Athletic Field.

Lawrence scored twice in the first half and once in the second to bring her seasonal goal total to 24. Junior Kati Vu pocketed her team-high 31st goal of the season on a free position shot midway through the second stanza.

Hood seniors Patsy Davis and Abby Dyjack played their final games in the blue-and-grey today. Davis had a forced turnover and scooped a ground ball while Dyjack snagged three ground balls and caused a pair of Mustang turnovers. Helene Butler made eight saves in defeat.

Eleven Mustangs found the back of the net, but it was Megan Weiss who led the way offensively for Stevenson with four goals and two assists. Stevenson outshot Hood 34-11 and outdueled the Blazers on the draw, 14-11.
