Lawrence Nets a Goal in 18-1 Setback to Lebanon Valley

FREDERICK, Md.—Senior Caitlin Lawrence of the Hood College women's lacrosse team (3-6, 0-3 Commonwealth) tallied her 29th goal of the season in the second half against Lebanon Valley (7-2, 2-1 Commonwealth) in an 18-1 setback for the Blazers.

Lawrence also led the blue and grey in groundballs with five, while also having a team high five draw controls. Senior Kimi Brunot and sophomore KayLynn McCarthy each had three groundballs to their name, while junior defenseman Carissa Ferguson tied for the team lead in caused turnovers with two.

Freshman goalkeeper Lauren Couch made five saves in the defeat. Couch was also able to cause two Dutchmen turnovers and corralled two groundballs. The duo of Corinne Palombo and Shelby Morris took the victory for Lebanon Valley and made a combined four saves on the afternoon.

Lebanon Valley was paced in scoring by Hana Krechel and Sam Boyce who each scored three goals for the Dutchmen. Krechel was also credited with six assists for the game.

Hood returns to action this Tuesday when they hit the road to take on Messiah in Commonwealth action at 4 p.m.
