Elizabethtown Downs Blazers, 9-0

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.--The Hood College women's tennis team (2-7, 0-2 Commonwealth) fell to the Elizabethtown College Blue Jays (9-2, 3-0 Commonwealth) by a count of 9-0 in Commonwealth Conference action Tuesday.

The Blue Jays are currently ranked No. 11 in the region and remained undefeated in league play. No. 1 singles player Emily Maerz gave Madison Pipkin a run in singles, giving her everything she could handle before falling 2-6, 7-6 (10-8), 10-7. The Blue Jays swept the other five singles matches in straight sets. Maerz and Olivia Hosch won three games at first doubles, while Sandra Dziadas and Nalla Tejera took two games from Kristi Noecker and Adriana Scotto at No. 2.

Hood returns home Saturday for the first time since March 22 as the Blazers host Alvernia University in another Commonwealth match at 11 a.m. at the Hood Tennis Courts.
