FREDERICK, Md. - Hood College fell to Lycoming College in a Commonwealth Conference matchup, 67-42.

The Blazers pulled ahead with six minutes remaining in the first half, but a six-point run for the Warriors gave them the lead late in the period.

Taylor McGaughey (New Market, Md. / Oakdale) sparked an early run with a jump shot and two free throws. It started a 12-point run, along with two layups from Rachel Wiley (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) and jump shots from Briana Lee (Frederick, Md. / Tuscarora) and Alexis Andrukat (Smithsburg, Md. / Smithsburg). Another bucket by Wiley put Hood on top 12-9 with nine minutes left in the half.  

A 3-pointer from McGaughey gave Hood a 17-16 lead with 6:59 on the first half clock. Lycoming outscored the Blazers 16-6 down the stretch to take a 32-22 lead into halftime.

An 11-point run by the Warriors early in the second half put the game out of reach. 

Andrukat and McGaughey came off the bench to tally 10 points apiece for Hood, as the Blazers' reserves scored 30 points in the contest. Andrukat added three steals and Wiley chipped in with nine rebounds and seven points.  

Shelby Mueller led Lycoming with 15 points and Nicole Calella added eight points and was 6-for-6 in free throws.

The Blazers look for a win against McDaniel on December 13 at 1 p.m.
