Winning Streak Snapped as Blazers Open Conference Play

ANNVILLE, Pa. - Hood College's four-game win streak came to an end as a Lebanon Valley team receiving votes in the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association rankings handled the Blazers 18-0.

With the loss, Hood drops to 4-1 on the year, while the Dutchmen improve to 7-2.

Lebanon Valley scored three goals in the opening three minutes and never looked back. Sam Boyce had all four of her goals during the first half and also assisted on three scores in the game.

Goalkeeper Lauren Couch (Crownsville, Md. / Old Mill) made 16 saves in goal for Hood. The sophomore also had four ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers. Ashley Kitzmiller (Westminster, Md. / Manchester Valley) had a pair of draw controls. 

In addition to seven points from Boyce, the Dutchmen received five from Bailey Benz (2g, 3a) and four from both Mel Modrick (2g, 2a) and Anna Pagels (1g, 3a). Pagels also had six ground balls and three caused turnovers. 

Hood looks to get back in the win column with a road trip to Bryn Athyn on March 22.
