WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Hood College women's tennis team was narrowly defeated by Lycoming in Commonwealth Conference action, falling 5-4.
The duo of Sandra Dziadas (Long Pond, Pa. / Pocono Mountain West) and Mable Tun (Frederick, Md. / Frederick) captured a victory at second doubles, topping Miranda Giraldo and Abbey Smith, 8-5.
Both Dziadas and Tun won singles matches to go 2-0 on the afternoon.
Dziadas defeated Smith 6-1, 6-3 at third singles. Tun was even more impressive at fourth singles, shutting out Giraldo 6-0, 6-0.
Hood's other point came at second singles. Rachel Hall (Glenelg, Md. / Glenelg) needed a tiebreaker in the third set, but emerged victorious, 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (7-4) over Kathy Jacobs.
The Blazers look to get back in the win column when FDU-Florham visits on April 13.
