READING, Pa. - The Hood College women's tennis team dropped a 7-2 final at Alvernia in Commonwealth Conference action.

The Blazers scored their points at first and fourth singles. Olivia Hosch (Newport, R.I. / Cushing Academy) claimed a 7-5, 6-4 win over Alyssa Boyd at first singles. Kendra Laster (Keedysville, Md. / Boonsboro) faced a stiff challenge from Xena Sperrazzi at No. 4 singles, but emerged with a 7-5, 7-5 victory.

Hood travels to Elizabethtown on April 24.
