WASHINGTON, D.C. - Hood College fell to Catholic University 9-0 in a non-conference match.

The duo of Olivia Hosch (Newport, R.I. / Cushing Academy) and Michelle Shedd (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) had the closest game, before falling 8-5 to Jenna Gietl and Maria Flores at first doubles. At second doubles, Aubrey Fetters (Frostburg, Md. / Bishop Walsh) and Meaghan Donahue (Walkersville, Md. / Walkersville) fell 8-1 to the Cardinals' Faith Tamuleviz and Maria Notarianni.

At first singles, Hosch won the first set after a tie-breaker, 7-6, but fell to Gietl 7-5 and 10-4 in the second and third sets, respectively. 

Donahue played close sets against Reilly Abbott but dropped the match 6-3, 6-4.

The Blazers take on Susquehanna on September 21.
