FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's tennis team dropped a non-conference match to visiting Catholic, 7-2.

Hood claimed points at third doubles and sixth singles by default.

In contested matches, Olivia Hosch (Newport, R.I. / Cushing Academy) battled at No. 1 singles, but fell 6-4, 6-2 to Laura Torsiello. Michelle Shedd (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) lost to Sarah MacLean 6-3, 6-2 at second singles, while Aubrey Fetters (Frostburg, Md. / Bishop Walsh) fell by a similar 6-2, 6-3 final to Lisa Genadry. 

Hood plays in the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Championships on October 10-11.
