READING, Pa. - Hood College picked up a win at first doubles and fell in hard-fought matches at the other doubles flights, but Alvernia swept the six singles matches in an 8-1 victory.

The Blazers' duo of Olivia Hosch (Newport, R.I. / Cushing Academy) and Michelle Shedd (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) scored an 8-4 win over Julie Seidel and Becca Perkins at first doubles. 

At second doubles, Sandra Dziadas (Long Pond, Pa. / Pocono Mountain West) and Aubrey Fetters (Frostburg, Md. / Bishop Walsh) fell 9-8 in a tiebreaker to Cassandra Noray and Maria Diosteanu. Hood third double pairing of Sophie Smith (Freeport, Maine / Freeport) and Meaghan Donahue (Walkersville, Md. / Walkersville) dropped an 8-6 final to Emily Thek and Xena Sperrazza. 

Hood travels to Cabrini on April 14.
