Box Score GLENSIDE, Pa. - Hood College's Lauren Couch (Crownsville, Md. / Old Mill) made a career-high 24 saves, but it was not enough to stop Arcadia in a 12-3 loss.
Couch's 24 saves are tied for the fourth most in Blazers history. Taylor McGaughey (New Market, Md. / Oakdale) Shay Braithwaite (Montgomery Village, Md. / Watkins Mill) and Anne Lessard (Natick, Mass. / Natick) each found the back of the net in the game. McGaughey had a game-best four draw controls. Braithwaite and Jade Locklear (Baltimore, Md. / Chesapeake) each contributed an assist for the Blazers.
Nicole Hutson got the Knights off to a hot start, scoring the first two goals of the game in less than two minutes of play. The Knights would continue their strong play, adding five more goals for 7-0 lead at the half.
After giving up two early goals in the second half, McGaughey put the Blazers on the scoreboard with 18:26 remaining on an assist from Braithwaite. Following two more Arcadia goals, the Blazers would respond with two of their own late in the game. Arcadia added one more goal with a minute left in regulation to make the score 12-3.
The Knights were led by Haylee Molloy and Dawn Faranetta who each scored four goals apiece. Molloy finished with 12 shots on goal. Faranetta added three assists in the game as well which gave her a team-high seven points on the day. Nicole Hutson added two goals and Adeline Bellesheim and Jessica Santoli each scored a goal as well. Dana Roessler and Kathleen Finnegan picked up four ground balls apiece. Jordyn Dunacusky made the start in goal and made three saves.
The Blazers play at Notre Dame (Md.) on April 20 for a rescheduled contest from March 6.
