BALTIMORE, Md. - The Hood College tennis team won four of the six singles flights, but Notre Dame (Md.) picked up a 5-4 win in non-conference action.

After the Gators secured all three doubles points, the Blazers mounted a comeback in singles play. Olivia Hosch (Newport, R.I. / Cushing Academy) defeated Paol Castillo Assaf, 6-0, 6-4 at first singles. Michelle Shedd (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) was a 6-2, 6-3 winner at second singles against Carrie Naylor. At fourth singles, Meaghan Donahue (Walkersville, Md. / Walkersville) notched a 6-3, 6-4 victory against Sandy Vo. Sophie Smith (Freeport, Maine / Freeport) won at fifth singles, 6-4, 6-1 over Kaitlyn Sommer.

The Blazers host Shepherd on September 25.
