WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Hood College women's lacrosse team fell 19-8 at Lycoming in Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth play.

Jade Locklear (Baltimore, Md. / Chesapeake) had four goals in the game. Her 35 this season are the most for a Blazer since 2012 and tied for the third-highest single season total at Hood. Locklear had two free position goals to tie the single season record of 12. The sophomore added four draw controls. 

Shay Braithwaite (Montgomery Village, Md. / Watkins Mill) and Christina Murphy (Denville, N.J. / Morris Knolls) scored two goals apiece. Lauren Couch (Crownsville, Md. / Old Mill) had 14 saves, six ground balls and four caused turnovers. 

Locklear scored three of Hood's four first half goals. She scored twice during a run-and-gun opening five minutes and 35 seconds to keep the Blazers within 3-2 early. 

Lycoming closed the half with an 11-3 run to pull away. Locklear and Braithwaite scored for Hood, but Kelly McGinniss answered Braithwaite's score with three in a row as the Warriors led 14-4 at halftime. 

McGinniss finished with six goals and an assist, one point less than Meghenn Jackson's six goals and two assists. Jordan Lazarich and Thamina Petl both had three-goal games. McGinniss added 10 draw controls and Leanne Shaw scooped five ground balls. Nicole Gerling made two saves in 30 minutes. Megan Bozarth and Casey Martindale split the second half in goal with Martindale picking up a team-high four saves.
