FREDERICK, Md. - The Hood College women's tennis team dropped a Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth match to visiting Messiah 9-0. 

Michelle Shedd (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) forced a second set tiebreaker, but ultimately fell to Kelly Hopkins 6-4, 7-6 (3). Bianca Hoch (Frederick, Md. / Urbana) had a seven-match singles win streak snapped, falling to Emily Doron 6-3, 6-3. 

Hood, 7-7 overall and 3-2 in the MAC Commonwealth, heads to Eastern on Apr. 21.
