READING, Pa. - Hood College won all three doubles matches on its way to a 7-2 win at Albright in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth opener for the Blazers. 

Hood's three doubles teams combined to drop just four games to give the Blazers a commanding 3-0 lead entering singles play.

Olivia Hosch (Newport, R.I. / Cushing Academy) and Michelle Shedd (Middletown, Md. / Middletown) scored an 8-2 win over Brooke Ronney and Erin Sullivan at first doubles. At second doubles, Aubrey Fetters (Frostburg, Md. / Bishop Walsh) and Meaghan Donahue (Walkersville, Md. / Walkersville) defeated Julie Devine and Devon Rubin 8-1. Sophie Smith (Freeport, Maine / Freeport) and Bianca Hoch (Frederick, Md. / Urbana) won by the same score at third doubles against Amanda Camporeale and Samantha Stitchman. 

The Blazers won four of the six singles matches to seal the win. 

Hosch and Hoch both needed three sets to secure wins. At first singles, Hosch was a 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 winner over Ronney. Hoch also came back after dropping the first set for a 3-6, 6-3, 10-7 victory against Elizabeth Bengtsson at sixth singles. 

Shedd won 6-2, 6-2 at seconds singles over Sullivan. Smith captured a win at fourth singles against Camporeale, 6-2, 6-3. 

Hood, 4-5 overall and 1-0 in the MAC Commonwealth, hosts Lynchburg on Apr. 5.
