WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Hood College's top doubles duo of Megan Carter and Skylar Wright won a pair of matches to advance to the semifinals at first doubles at the Middle Atlantic Conference Individual Championships.

Doubles

• Carter and Wright, seeded fourth, defeated Stevenson's duo of Jenna Skove and Kelsi Mentzer 8-7 (5) in the first round. The pair moved on to the quarterfinals, where they picked up an 8-3 victory over Emily Fernandez and Alexis Zalutko of King's. Carter and Wright will square off with the top-seeded team of Dasha Yakhnis and Francesca Varela-Seri from Wilkes on Sunday, September 29. The winner will advance to the first doubles championship, later Sunday. 
• The duo of Katie Cautero and Abbey Bloom fell 8-2 in the first round against Kirsten Kosa and Bailey Greco of DeSales. 

Singles

• Each of the Blazers' entries fell on the first day. 
• Carter defeated Delaware Valley's Aubrey Errickson 6-1, 6-0 in the first round at first singles. Skove outlasted Carter in the quarterfinals 6-1, 5-7, 10-7. 
• At second singles, Wright won in straight sets in the first round against Christine Kenny of FDU-Florham, 6-3, 7-5. 
• Cautero fell in the first round at fifth singles, 6-3, 6-1, to Kayla Rembish from Misericordia. 
• FDU-Florham's Erin Weller defeated Bloom 6-0, 6-1 at sixth singles.
