Burgenson second in steeplechase at Messiah

GRANTHAM, Pa. - The Hood College men's track and field team recorded four top-five finishes on the final day of the Messiah Multi & Invitational. 

On the Track
  • Chris Burgenson had the Blazers' best finish of the day, claiming second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Burgenson ran a personal-best of 10:16.05, making him the second fastest individual in the event in program history. 
  • Evan Ellington was responsible for two top-fives in the sprints. He was fourth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.48 and fifth in the 100-meter dash in 11.39. 
In the Field
  • Kevin Ciocco, who was second in the hammer on Friday evening, took third place in the shot put. His best throw traveled 12.44 meters (40-9 3/4). 
Scoring
  • The Blazers were seventh with 31 points. 
  • Messiah defended its home track with 176 points for the win.
